Smart clothing parts: conductive fabric, thread and touch kits

Short answer: you can't buy touchscreen clothing yet, but you can buy the parts to make clothing that senses touch. Conductive fabric costs $4.95 for a 20 cm square at Adafruit. A 30-channel Trill Craft touch board costs $19 at Bela. SparkFun's LilyPad sewable kits run from $7.25 to $47.50. A professional Loomia tactile sensing kit is $9,800 and sold out.

What about ready-made smart clothing?

Touchscreen clothing is not on sale. The NUS garment GUI is a lab prototype. The best-known touch jacket, the Levi's jacket with Google Jacquard, stopped being supported on 24 April 2023, and 9to5Google reported the touch features would stop working.⁶ Today's shipping smart garments mostly sense the body (heart rate, movement) rather than take touch input. First project, no coding: a LilyPad E-Sewing ProtoSnap ($7.25) teaches sewn circuits.
