About
About Garment GUI
Garment GUI tracks one question: what is real in clothing that senses touch or shows light? We cover touchscreen garments, fabric displays, touch-sensing textiles and fibre electronics, from lab papers to products to shutdowns. Every fact links to its primary source and a date.
What we believe
Fabric interfaces are real physics and premature products. Every attempt so far has run into the same four problems: washing, power, software support and a reason to exist. Our job is to measure the gap between a lab demo and something you can wear, one dated fact at a time. We will tell you when you can buy one. Not before.
How we check facts
Every claim is checked against its primary source before it is published: the paper, the patent, the press release or the seller page. Our publishing system refuses any paragraph that does not cite a source, unless it is clearly labelled as our estimate. When we get something wrong, we fix it and say so.
Our rules
- Every fact links to a public source with a date.
- Estimates are labelled "Our estimate".
- We report the test that was actually run. "Washable" is not the same as "survived 50 machine washes".
- We do not reuse researchers' photos or video without permission.
- We are not affiliated with any lab or company we cover.
Affiliate links
Some product links are affiliate links (SparkFun and Amazon). If you buy through them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases. Links never decide what we recommend, and each page that has them says so.
